Born in Cape Town and from a young age pursued part-time studies at Darul Uloom Zakaria. He later travelled to Syria to complete the intensive Arabic language program as well as Imamat and Da'wah course at Mujamma' Ahmed Kuftaru and Ma'had al-Fath al-Islam. 

Due to the unrest in Syria, he left to study in Hadhramaut, in Yemen, for another few years where he pursued traditional studies by engaging with the required text in Shafi Madhhab and other sciences.

After completing and acquiring ijāzāt (certificates) in many different sciences he returned home in 2016 where he immediately took a position as a senior lecturer at IPSA till this day, simultaneously he completed his BA Honors Degree in Maqasid al-Shari'ah.

He will be pursuing the Master’s Degree in Islamic Thought through IPSA this year 2020.
