Dr Dawood Terblanche holds a Ph.D in Philosophy with a specialization in Religion from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in Durban, South Africa and an MA in Ancient Languages and Cultures. His research areas include Islamic education, Islamic Law, Philosophy, Religion, Anthropology, History and Halal Studies.
He is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the International Peace College South Africa (IPSA), the first accredited and registered private Islamic tertiary institution in South Africa. He also serves as trustee of the Muslim Judicial Council Halaal Trust in Cape Town, trustee at the Voice of the Cape, a local Muslim radio station in Cape Town and a member of Animal Ethics Committee at UCT. Dr Dawood Terblanche is also an external examiner and moderator for three public Universities in South Africa. He is also a community leader for the past 20 years and currently serves as the resident Imam of the Nurul El-Houda Masjid in Bo-Kaap, Cape Town. Dr Dawood Terblanche is a sworn translator of the Western Cape High Court and a registered Marriage Officer for Home Affairs, a South African government institution in South Africa.
